Overview[]
(The loading screen video shows a hallway with two security guards in suits outside of a door. The camera transitions inside of the door to reveal a bright white room Sam Fisher is sitting inside. Fisher has medical electrical monitors attached to him. He looks over at an observation window where Third Echelon director Irving Lambert and a unidentified female NSA doctor are watching. The NSA doctor monitors Fisher's brain activity as a virtual 3D mapping video show's Fisher's brain and pulse activity.)
Fisher begins the second Test Course in a white area, as the NSA doctor begins to set up the environment for Fisher to imagine himself in. She tells Fisher that his objective is to find a hostage who holds valuable information, and he starts the mission in a high elevation enabling him to see the environment more clearly. The NSA doctor tells Fisher that a police officer is in the area looking for the hostage, but the hostage will be kill if he is spotted by the hostiles who are holding the hostage spot the police officer. Fisher is notified that he does not have the Fifth Freedom, meaning he'll have to deal with the officer non-lethally. Fisher was able to find the officer and knock him out, proceeding to the next area. Fisher enters the next area where he begins the level at the top of a set of stairs overlooking an open area where two men are holding the hostage. The NSA doctor changes the challenge, and tells Fisher that the men who hold the hostage are now heavily armed terrorists. A maze system forms and creates extra challenge for Fisher. Fisher begins sneaking through the environment and is able to knock out both the terrorists. Fisher walks up to the hostage and take off her bonds, completing the simulation.
Trivia[]
- In fact, there are no cameras here.
- Killing a policeman and terrorists does not affect the final rating of this mission.
- During one of the objectives in the simulation, Fisher is told by the instructor to imagine a prisoner held hostage by enemy soldiers. Fisher imagines his daughter, Sarah Fisher, and the instructor then asks Fisher why he is stressed (because he imagines her currently in danger).
- This training level does not appear in the mission menu, nor will it be entered when the player starts a new game, meaning it's entirely optional and up to the players regarding if they wish to play it or not. It has no affect on the story, it serves as a simple tutorial.
- This is the first, and so far only, virtual reality mission in the Splinter Cell series that the player is able to complete. Both the Training Test Course levels are similar to the VR Training sections from the Metal Gear Solid series.
