Overview[]
(The loading screen video shows a hallway with two security guards in suits outside of a door. The camera transitions inside of the door to reveal a bright white room Sam Fisher is sitting inside. Fisher has medical electrical monitors attached to him. He looks over at an observation window where Third Echelon director Irving Lambert and a unidentified female NSA doctor are watching. The NSA doctor monitors Fisher's brain activity as a virtual 3D mapping video show's Fisher's brain and pulse activity.)
Sam Fisher appears in a darkened area as the NSA doctor tells Fisher to imagine himself in a dark environment. The environment is a solid black color as the NSA doctor tells Fisher to imagine something very precious to him, something he really cares about. Fisher imagines a portrait of his daughter, Sarah Fisher, on a stand. The stand 'moves' a distance away as the instructor tells Fisher to image spotlights between him and the portrait. Fisher avoids the spotlights and makes it to the portrait. The instructor then tells Fisher that the object (the portrait) is now being monitored by surveillance cameras. Then she states that it is also protected by security lasers, making it more difficult. She adds that there is a laptop in a separate room not far from the objective. Fisher is able to climb a pole that ran over the cameras, lasers and the objective towards where the laptop was located, and accessed the computer. Fisher disabled the security cameras and climbed back onto the pole, making his way over the objective (the portrait). Fisher attached a cable to the pole and lowered himself down to the portrait and retrieved it, completing the objective and finishing Test Course A.
Trivia[]
- This training level does not appear in the mission menu, nor will it be entered when the player starts a new game, meaning it's entirely optional and up to the players regarding if they wish to play it or not. It has no affect on the story, it serves as a simple tutorial.
- This is the first, and so far only, virtual reality mission in the Splinter Cell series that the player is able to complete. Both the Training Test Course levels are similar to the VR Training sections from the Metal Gear Solid series.
