  • Hello, I am Yaujj75 and one of the editors of this wiki. I would like you to solve the infoboxes that the wiki have as it is outdated and need improvements. I talk to you because the infoboxes are admin only, so I decide to use this to talk. Although I recommend that you rename the infoboxes to Infobox Splinter Cell (Topic), but that is optional.

  • Hi Protonova,

    You may have noticed that Awyman13 added a Discord chat widget to this wiki. He's an admin and WIki Manager for a couple other Tom Clancy games, so he decided to set up a Discord server for all the games.

    Do you have any objections to having the Discord widget on this wiki? If you want it removed, just say the word.

    • Hi Protonova, per the suggestion above, I've replaced the Discord Integrator with the Discord chat widget.

    • Awesome, I like that a lot better. Thank you.

  • Hello, I'm Flanqer, and I'm the Wiki Manager for the Splinter Cell Wiki. I introduced myself in Discussions, but wanted to drop you a personal message since you're one of the active admins. I'm here to help you and your community, and to be a liaison to full-time Fandom Staff. If you ever have any questions related to the wiki, whether it's about editing, styling, infoboxes, policy, etc, please contact me on my message wall.

    (Don't take the "manager" part of my title seriously. For a clearer explanation of my role, see the announcement on Community Central.)

    • Hi, Glad to have you here, this wiki has become a bit desolate and has random bouts of activity. I intend to be around regulalry. If you have any suggestion feel free to speak them.

  • Hey there, Protonova! Just wanted to let you know that I created a footer for the Tom Clancy's series. I was curious to know if you'd like to put it at the bottom of the wiki's main page? I'd also recommend removing the Affiliates section considering it's the same wikis and it serves the same purpose, that is, if you decide to use the footer. Let me know, thanks!

      Loading editor
    • Sure, as long as if fits the current color scheme. Can you do this? Or does it need to be admin?

        Loading editor
    • The footer is already coded so it should closely match a wiki's color scheme. All you need to do is add the footer by inserting {{w:FooterTomClancys}} on the bottom of the wiki's main page. It'll look very similar to the Action Adventure Games footer already added to your main page.

    • Done, and looking good

      Now all you need is Rainbow Six wiki to do it.

  • Typos here before, Protonova. Can u help with Train Station and UN HQ and add info (notes, objective descriptions, data) just like I did with the main SP missions, BTW?

    • I have limited info on the other missions, I might need to try look at the game files to get all the infomation. I'm doing what I can.

    • Also we need info about coop and single levels in SCDA (versions PS2 + XBOX) and Conviction + Blacklist. Have us Blacklist at 50% is empty articles. And some Essentials for PSP.

  • Hey there! I've been looking into your work on the wiki and I have to say what you're digging up is pretty interesting. I just wanted to ask how progress is proceeding? Has anything new turned up at all?

    Also, although I fear that the attempt is futile, I did reach out to Mathieu Ferland, one of the lead designers of Splinter Cell on Twitter for any information on the cut content. If he somehow does get back to me, is there anything you'd want me to ask him?

      Loading editor
    • I've pretty much done all I can to get what information about the cut chapter I can, I only have Severonickel to sort out. The only other thing I have found are some early screenshots, I've already posted the most interesting ones in here.

      I'd like to ask about anything that was cut from the game, specifically about the cut missions and if there is anyway to access them.

      I really wish those missions could be restored, I was trying to figure out a way to run them through the console commands, but the SplinterCell.exe builds I have tried just don't have the files and it just keeps crashing.

      I've moved on to Pandora Tomorrow to see what I can get from it, not nearly as much as the orginal Splinter Cell.

        Loading editor
    • That's fair enough. In terms of Pandora Tomorrow, I don't think I've heard anything about the development cycle of that game or any cut content. That'll be a really interesting one to dig up and explore.

  • The stuff you added for Mining Town is awesome! Might I ask how are you getting that information? I've dug through the game files so many times and found nothing substantial on Mining Town, let alone what you've found. You seem to have found it all.

    • I managed to get an eariler version of the game that still had the had files in a directory called LOCALIZATION. These files were all .pol .rus .bra, no english versions. So I had to do a lot of translating of each language to get the best translation. It's real interesting stuff!

      It's all in this kind of format:

      [_3_3_1_Mine_WilkesI]
      Speech_0014L = FISHER- Are you sure this time there will be no problems with evacuation.
      Speech_0015L = WILKS- Yeah, of course. We are in the middle of the wasteland. As long as the wolves don't eat eat us and these wheels hold up, we are safe.
      Speech_0016L = FISHER- And you trust these wheels?
      Speech_0017L = WILKS- Are you kidding me? This baby was made under communism. I've stole a lot of good cars, but this one ... She has a personality.

      [Russian miner]
      Speech_0002L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- Who are you?
      Speech_0003L = FISHER- Nobody. I want to know about the Georgians.
      Speech_0004L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- I do not work for them. I live here, I'm a miner.
      Speech_0005L = FISHER- Then don't tell about yourself. I'm interested in Georgians.
      Speech_0006L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- They arrived here about a week ago, and took up the mine.
      Speech_0007L = FISHER- And they closed the mines?
      Speech_0008L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- Exactly. They bribed everyone they could and killed those they couldn't. Please, I'm a simple person. I have three children, and I have ...
      Speech_0009L = FISHER- We've already established that I do not want to know anything about you. Where does this city get electricity from?
      Speech_0010L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- What?
      Speech_0011L = FISCHER- There must be a local transformer somewhere here.
      Speech_0012L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- At the end of the street, along this road.
      Speech_0013L = FISHER- And is it guarded by Georgians?
      Speech_0014L = RUSSIAN MINER- Yes. And Russians, too. They installed an electric fence, but I think there is a hole in it.
      Speech_0021L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- That's all I know, I'm a simple person.
      Speech_0022L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- Don't kill me.
      Speech_0023L = RUSSIAN SHAKHTAR- That's all I know. I swear.

      Speech_0018L = LAMBERT- You have new tasks. When you cut off the power, you will be able to pinpoint Georgian mercenaries by their lights. We believe that they have their own generator. Details on your OPSAT.

      Speech_0001L = LAMBERT- Good news, Fisher. This may be our last antenna hunt. Our SIGINT analysts say this city swallows up all the signals. Grimsdottir says they will need an antenna at least half a kilometer wide.

  • Thank you so much for your contributions to everything Splinter Cell, especially the cut content of the  original! Love the Mining Town citizen and Powerplant employee! Keep the content coming! I've been wishing we could play those levels for like 15 years now.

      Loading editor
    • Thanks, I'm still currently working through a whole lot of cut content and have searched the Internet pretty thoroughly to get whatever information I can.

      I've been trying to play around and modify the original Splinter Cell game files to get into those cut levels. I really wish I knew the console command to load the levels, if there even is one. I fear the only way is through the custom Unreal Engine 2 that the game was made in.

        Loading editor
    • Are you sure the levels are actually in the files? They didn't delete them? If someone could get into those levels and load them, that would be amazing. Please post more content! Any way to extract the sound fills of interrogations and Fisher and Lambert takingt and all that on those levels?

        Loading editor
    • The levels themselves (which are .scl files) are not there, though some textures, sounds and text still exist. Most of it is reused in the downloadable missions. I wonder if there are some beta versions out there that still have the level files... then maybe you could play them. Otherwise someone may have to mod them from what is known about them to have them playable. Which would be amazing.

      I have found some sound files that are from the cut missions, however it's really strange. I use a tool called Dragon UnPACKer to open them and see they are full of .wav files. But they cannot play or be extracted, I'm unsure why this error occurs and would like to figure it out.

      There are text that shows dialog and goals for the missions, they were all in different languages and I've had to translate them. The english versions were missing oddly. I can post them up if you are interested?

        Loading editor
    • I'm definitely interested in anything related to Splinter Cell and the deleted levels! I hope you can get the sound files extracted properly!

  • Just see which pages they are used on and replace them with improved versions: for example this article Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Version 2) use this image File:Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Version 2).

    • Okay, thanks for the heads up. I'll try get them up on pages. There were a lot of files/pictures that had two of the same images.

  • 1. How do you feel about making all our articles past-tense, as if they've already happened and the wiki is giving an account? Many other wikis do this (despite some taking part in the far future). This is great for if a character dies, you don't have to change "is" to "was" and such.

    2. Another, in somewhat relation, is the character life and death parenthesis. Think we should leave them, or remove them? Because some Character 'deaths' are questionable because the character can be kill or spared in a lot of games. I've noticed some articles that give a very bold statement of what is and isn't canon without any reference or proof, just assumption.

    3. Level names - still in the process, but it's pretty tricky. Chinese Embassy 2 is just a placeholder, although I don't know if I like it - it sounds like a movie sequel. Perhaps part 2 would be better? What do you think? I gave Jerusalem (Level) for that mission.

    I agree that we should experiment and try things out, although I would love to hear your input and perhaps we could brainstorm on some of these points, especially number 1 and 2.

    • 1. I think most things should be past-tense, unless perhaps if it is an account quote from the game. I'm not fussed about it but I can see that it would have benefits to talk about it as the past.

      2. Yeah it's hard to pin point when and how they have died too. I think we should note down all the ways a person can/has died.

      3. Maybe Chinese Embassy revisited or second visit or return. Not sure haha. Part 2 sounds fine though.
