Emile Dufraisne (1956 – December 21, 2008), was the main antagonist in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Version 2). He was the leader and founder of John Brown's Army (JBA), an American terrorist organization. He also appeared in Splinter Cell: Conviction in one of Sam Fisher's flashbacks.

The product of a privileged, yet disturbed upbringing, Emile Dufraisne has always believed that he was destined for greatness. In his teens he orchestrated the brutal murder of a local policeman, for which he seemed truly repentant, yet during his term in juvenile detention he was surrounded by suspicious deaths. Several years after his release, Emile founded the JBA, an organization that has frequently been suspected of, but never satisfactorily tied in to any criminal activity.

Version 2 of Double Agent[]

The product of a wealthy, traditional upbringing, Emile Dufraisne was always destined for great things. His belief that America needs to change in a fundamental way moved him to create the JBA, a group devoted to bringing about change through the destruction of the current, decadent order. Some would call him a terrorist, but Emile considers himself a patriot.[1]

Only child of a family descended from old Louisiana plantation money. University in Louisiana, spent a year with distant relatives in Europe, came back to manage the family fortune when father crippled by a stroke. Connections to European arms dealers, hates drug runners. Brought in for questioning in the strangulation of a Haitian drug Lieutenant, said nothing for half an hour and the family lawyer got him out of there. Never questioned again, case still open. Has connections on Capitol Hill and possibly also with Enrica Villablanca's uncle. Terrorist 1

Red Mercury Plot[]

Emile attempts to buy the Red Mercury in Iceland from Raheem Kadir, but is unable to because it was stolen from Allejandro Takfir. After Sam Fisher joins the JBA, Emile sends him to steal a money train in New York to buy some and test it on a cruise ship in Cozumel. In Kinshasa, Emile buys means to get more from Takfir while disccusing with him and Massoud Ibn-Yussiff about the plan. In the final level in New York, Emile attempts to kill Fisher and protect the final Red Mercury bomb, but is unsuccessful and killed by Fisher.

  • To unlock main profile in the mission JBA Headquarters - Part 1 (Version 2) Sam can obtain Emile's fingerprints. There are multiple locations for his prints, though since only a complete print can be used, the only prints that can be used are on a nightstand in his living quarters on his radio clock and on newspapers near computer on Xbox version and on his radio clock and on computer keyboard in PS2/Gamecube/Wii versions.
  • In mix cgi live action trailer Emile is played by actor Daniel Benzali.
