During the Indonesia Crisis in 2006, undercover agent Norman Soth was present on a train riding Hesperia Railways. His real status as either an agency asset or a terrorist was undetermined by Third Echelon, prompting them to send Splinter Cell agent Sam Fisher on the civilian train line to discover the truth. When Fisher encountered Soth in his cabin, Fisher asked him who his handler was, to which Soth replied, "Clifton Finch." Soth left the cabin to answer a phone call, but a quick search by Third Echelon analysts revealed that Finch was on sick leave, meaning Soth was lying about his handler.
